Pen Pals #1: Danielle / Amigos por Correspondencia #1: Danielle

Ever since the first time I visited Marlous´s blog A flood of memories I fell in love with handwritten letters and exchanging packages with people from around the world. I still remember I used to have pen pals when I was little so finding this blog woke me up and made me realize how much I missed writting and connecting with people in this particular way.

Desde la primera vez que visité el blog de Marlous A flood of memories me enamoré de las cartas escritas a mano y además intercambiar encomiendas con gente de alrededor del mundo. Aún recuerdo que solía tener amigos por correspondencia cuando era pequeña. Por eso, encontrar este blog me despertó y me hizo dar cuenta de lo mucho que extrañaba conectarme con las personas de esta manera en particular.

Estoy muy agradecida a Danielle del blog Tender Roots por mandarme una carta muy linda escrita a máquina de escribir (al menos creo que fue escrita con una, ¡le voy a preguntar en mi carta de respuesta!)

Her blog is stunning and I admire her love of travelling and trying new things. It inspires me to go out of my confort zone, which helps me a lot. She also visited Buenos Aires with her husband a few weeks ago and made a really moving video about it. She captured my capital city perfectly. You can watch it here: Let me take you to Buenos Aires... I never realized how pretty it was until I saw it through her eyes. Now I´m determined to appreciate it more and try to know it better.

Su blog es hermoso y admiro su amor por viajar y hacer cosas nuevas. Me inspira a salir de mi zona de confort, lo cual me ayuda bastante. También visitó Buenos Aires con su esposo hace algunas semanas e hizo un video muy conmovedor al respecto. Capturó la Capital de mi país de manera perfecta. Pueden mirarlo aqui: Let me take you to Buenos Aires... Nunca me había dado cuenta de lo linda que era hasta que la ví a traves de sus ojos. Ahora estoy dispuesta a apreciarla mas y a intentar conocerla mejor.

STRAWBERRY TART / TARTA DE FRUTILLAS

 

 

 

My mom got me a cooking book for Christmas. I was so surprised and happy about it that I had to make something from it right away! I´ve always loved Strawberry Tart. My grandma used to make it for me quite frequently and I was excited to try and get a similar taste than her´s. It turned out to be good, maybe not as good as my grandma´s but I still got to remember how much I used to enjoyed it when she made it.

Mi mamá me regaló un libro de cocina para Navidad. ¡Me sorprendió y me hizo tan feliz que tenía que preparar alguna receta enseguida! Siempre me gustó la tarta de frutilla. Mi abuela solía prepararla bastante seguido y estaba emocionada por intentar lograr darle un sabor similar al que ella le daba. Resultó muy bien, quizas no tan buena como la que hacia mi abuela, pero aun pude recordar lo mucho que disfrutaba que la hiciera.

SNAILMAIL: AnouckPlume + Gratitude

A few days ago I got a postcard from Anouck. She went to London and she was really kind to sent me this lovely card. It has a really positive quote, which I love and needed at the time. To be honest with you I still need it.

Hace algunos dís recibí una postal de parte de Anouck. Ella fué a Londres y fué muy amable de su parte mandarme esta linda carta. Tiene una frase muy positiva, que me encanta y necesitaba escuchar en ese momento. Para serles sincera, todavía necesito escucharla.

I´m preparing myself to start Uni again in a week. I still can´t believe that in December I will be an accountant. Sometimes I feel like it´s not my passion, but I do know that I still learned a lot and it will be useful for me even if I end up working in another area.

I usually feel like I don´t apreciate things as much as I do. That´s why I´ve been trying to find the good side on every single thing that happens to me. I have a lot to be grateful, and nowadays it´s pretty easy to get caught up in things that don´t really matter.

Me estoy preparando para empezar a cursar en la Universidad en una semana. Todavía me cuesta creer que en Diciembre voy a ser una contadora. A veces siento que no es mi pasión, pero se que aprendí mucho y que va a ser útil para mí aunque termine trabajando en otra área.

Ocasionalmente siento que no aprecio las cosas como debería. Por eso he estado tratando de encontrarle el lado positivo a cada cosa que me pasa. Tengo mucho por lo cual estar agradecida, y hoy en día es muy fácil dejarse llevar por cosas que no importan demasiado.

¿Ustedes tienen alguna frase que leen cuando se sienten tristes o estresados? ¡Espero que estén teniendo un día genial!

 

YOGA

Last week I made the best decision. I got out of my house, got on a bus and went to a yoga place in the center of town. I don´t even know why it took me so long, but the truth is I´m really grateful I finally had the courage to do it.

On Monday I had my first class. You have no idea how good I feel about it. It´s nice to know I will have some time to myself to relax during the week. The people there are so nice. I´m really happy, in case you couldn´t tell already! :)

La semana pasada tomé una de las mejores decisiones. Salí de mi casa, me subí a un autobus y visité un lugar de yoga que esta en el centro de la ciudad. No se muy bien porque me llevo tanto tiempo hacer esto, pero la verdad es que estoy muy agradecida que finalmente tuve el coraje de hacerlo.

El lunes fue mi primera clase. No tienen idea lo bien que me siento al respecto. Es lindo saber que voy a tener un tiempo dedicado a relajarme durante la semana. La gente que conocí es muy amable. ¡Estoy muy contenta, por si no se dieron cuenta! :)

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES / GALLETITAS DE CHOCOLATE

Last Sunday I made chocolate chip cookies for my dad. I used the basic recipe for this cookies and also read many tips from sallysbakingaddiction blog. My cookies don´t look as good as hers but I will keep practicing till I get it right!

El domingo pasado hice galletitas con chips de chocolate para mi papa. Usé la receta basica para hacer estas galletitas y ademas leí consejos de sallysbakingaddiction blog. Mis galletitas no lucen tan bién como las de ella, pero voy a seguir practicando hasta hacerlo bien!

The last few days have been rainy and that made me miss spring so much. Don´t get me wrong, I love fall. Los últimos dias han estado lluviosos y esta situación me ha hecho extrañar la primavera. No me malinterpreten, me encanta el otoño.
